Giving Grace Winner, a follow up post: Orlando Children's Photographer

At the end of 2010 I held a giveaway for a session and some prints. The idea was to have you all nominate someone in your life that could use a smile. Last year was a tough one and there were many deserving people nominated so I used the randomizer to choose the winner. The winner was little Sophia





Sophia was nominated by family friend Carly, who wrote in part:

Sophia was born with a severe cleft pallet and lip.  So far she has had two major surgeries, and she just recently turned one.   It is likely that she will have additional surgeries in the future. The first surgery was to close the lip and the second surgery was much more involved as they closed her pallet.  This little girl had a rough start in life.  She fought hard to drink from a special bottle made just for babies with cleft pallet's.  Her mom, Naomi worked hard on pumping her milk for her baby.  Her baby was not privilege to latch on, for her facial structure wouldn't allow her to make a good latch.  Late night feeds, worrying parents, many trips to the hospital, cries, and surgeries and yet she is such a happy sweet toddler.

Sophia clearly adores both her Mama and Daddy but you can tell that she has an extra special bond with Dad




Sophia also has the wisest eyes I think I've ever seen. You can tell she is an old soul




I'm so glad I had the opportunity to get to know Sophia and her wonderful family.
